Plexxcon successfully completed the roof replacement and remediation of a high-rise commercial office building at 100 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley. This complex project involved working at significant heights on top of a 14-storey commercial tenancy space, requiring specialised safety measures, careful coordination, and precise execution in a dense inner-city environment.

The project encompassed:
– Removal of the existing roof to address structural concerns.
– Repairs to the building’s structure, ensuring long-term durability.
– Waterproofing and concrete remediation to the rooftop, mitigating future risks of water ingress and structural deterioration.
– Installation of a new, high-performance roof, designed for longevity and resilience.
– Remediation and waterproofing of the plant room, protecting critical building infrastructure.

Working at extreme heights on a fully operational commercial building in a central city location presented several logistical and safety challenges. With limited access points and significant space constraints, our team needed to execute the works with minimal disruption to tenants and surrounding businesses.

Given the high-risk nature of working at heights, we prioritised rigorous safety planning. Our project team collaborated closely with a third-party safety consultant, conducting detailed risk assessments and establishing comprehensive methodologies for executing the works safely and efficiently. This approach ensured compliance with industry best practices and provided a safe working environment for all personnel involved.
